Don’t confuse Tactic with Strategy.
Why is it that the likes of Jim Rohn, Brian Tracey, Zig Ziglar et al are still selling there books today? In some cases, over 100 years after they were written?
Because the core beliefs and philosophies they discovered and wrote about still work today. You see, the world may have changed in many ways but as people, we’re still very similar.
So the strategy that worked in 1998 still works today, you may just need to use different tactics.
Think of it like a car journey. If you’re travelling from Manchester to London you’ll still (probably) use the M6, M42 and M40 (strategy), but you’ll likely drive a Tesla rather than a silver 1990 Ford Fiesta 1.8 Diesel called Monty (tactic).
In 1998 it was faxes and phone calls. Today it’ll be Facebook Ads and Funnel Pages. But the objective remains the same – to turn a total stranger who doesn’t yet know you even exist, into a raving fan of a customer.
